  • Historic Cemetery Designation

We’re excited to share some wonderful news with our community!

Our cemetery has officially been recognized as a Historic Texas Cemetery by the Texas Historical Commission. This designation honors the historical significance of the cemetery and helps ensure its preservation for future generations.

This recognition reflects the rich history of those laid to rest here and the continued efforts of our members and supporters to care for and protect this special place.

We’re proud to be part of preserving our local history and heritage. Thank you to everyone who has contributed their time and dedication to making this possible!

  • Wreaths Across America

We are honored to participate in Wreaths Across America, a meaningful program dedicated to remembering and honoring our nation’s veterans.

Each year, wreaths are placed on the graves of those who served, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten. It’s a powerful reminder of the courage and dedication of the men and women who defended our freedoms.

Thank you to everyone who supports this effort—whether by volunteering, sponsoring a wreath, or simply taking a moment to reflect. Together, we keep their memory alive.

  • Historic Tree Designations

Our cemetery is home to some remarkable trees, standing as living witnesses to the history of our community. Recently, several trees were identified as being over 100 years old, with a few dating back more than 200 years! These trees not only add beauty and shade to our grounds but also connect us to generations past. We are proud to announce that the City of Mansfield has awarded a certificate acknowledging several of our trees meet this requirement. This recognition highlights the historical significance of these trees and ensures their preservation for future generations. We invite visitors to appreciate these living monuments to our community’s past.

  • GPR Mapping

Thank you to everyone who contributed—we sincerely appreciate your support. The GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) survey has been completed, and we have now received the results from the company and are actively working through them. This will allow us to begin identifying some of the more than 400 unknown graves. You may have noticed markers indicating the locations of unknown graves throughout the cemetery. While this remains a significant undertaking, we are encouraged by the progress being made.

  • New Sign

Have you noticed the new sign? It’s designed to resemble the original from many years ago and now represents both sections located across the road from each other.

  • New Fence

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing supporters, the new fence around the cemetery is complete! Installed in phases as donations came in, it’s a wonderful addition that makes our grounds even more special. We’re so grateful to everyone who helped bring this project to life!

  • Drainage Project

We are pleased to share progress on a long-standing drainage issue affecting the property. A swale has been installed to better manage water runoff, resulting in noticeable improvement. This has been a significant, multi-year effort, and we are encouraged to finally see meaningful results.
